- Good Repeatability: After countless cycles, the displacement output for the same pressure value should remain consistent.
- Linearity: The relationship between displacement and pressure should ideally be linear for easy calibration and reading.
Excellent Elastic Properties
- Stable Stiffness: The stiffness coefficient of the bellows must remain stable throughout the product's entire service life.
- Zero Creep / Low Relaxation: Minimal change in shape and performance under long-term load.
Super Long Fatigue Life
Many instruments require continuous operation, and the internal bellows undergo micro-amplitude vibrations with process pressure fluctuations. Therefore, they must withstand millions or even hundreds of millions of cycles without fatigue failure.
Excellent Sealing
Absolute gas tightness or liquid tightness must be guaranteed. Any minor leakage can lead to measurement inaccuracy or instrument failure. Strict detection methods like helium mass spectrometry leak detection are typically employed.
Material Compatibility and Stability
Materials must be compatible with the media they contact, be inherently stable, non-magnetic or low-magnetic (to avoid interference), and corrosion-resistant.
Commonly used materials include: 300 series stainless steel (e.g., 304, 316L), Hastelloy, Inconel, phosphor bronze, beryllium copper, etc. Beryllium copper is widely used in high-end instruments due to its excellent elasticity, strength, and fatigue resistance.
