Laser displacement sensor
Laser displacement sensors address thousands of specific applications primarily through four fundamental measurement modes:
Dimensional Measurement
This is the most basic and common application, used to check whether the geometric dimensions of a work piece are within specification.
Thickness Measurement:
- Method 1 (Single Sensor): Measuring the thickness of a work piece on a known reference surface. For example, measuring the thickness of a glass plate or metal sheet on a fixed platform.
- Method 2 (Dual Sensors in Opposing Setup): Two sensors set up opposite each other; the sum of their measurements gives the work piece thickness. This is a classic application for online inspection.

Position Detection and Alignment
Used to determine if an object is present, if its position is correct, or to guide equipment for precise positioning.
Vibratory Bowl Feeder:Detecting if a component is in place at the feeder outlet and triggering the robotic arm for pickup.
Profile and Deformation Measurement
Using single-point scanning or dedicated line laser sensors to capture the surface profile of an object, used for detecting shape defects or deformations.
Vibration Analysis
Utilizing its high sampling frequency to measure minute vibrations of an object without contact, making it ideal for high-speed rotating objects or those that should not be touched.
